A Stone's Throw Pub and Grill
A place my friend Jake highly recommend due to his past memories and personal feelings, its a personal best wing spot. This place is located in downtown Bowmanville, which is pretty far for the most of us. The location was nice and there was lots of people inside. It was mainly the older folks in town but much to see here.
Nice looking pub, all the locales seem to be enjoying themselves. We got seated and ordered some beer. I decided to try out the daily special which was the most common bar food so there is no way you could go wrong. After a short wait time our food came. It looks not bad but the portions are a little smaller then I expected. Time for the ultimate taste.
The daily special rib and wings with fries was on sale for 19 dollars which was not very bad. I started with the coleslaw, which was actually very good. The fries was not bad, they are all stuck together but the taste was not too bad. Now as for the main deal, the ribs was very small and not much meat on them. The taste of the ribs was pretty generic but not bad as well. I just wish the ribs was bigger so i can eat some more. The wings was not bad but also not the best I have had. Only 4 on the plate and they was pretty dry, just like the ribs. Both ribs and wings were more on the dry end and small portions.
The service was very good but also nothing out of ordinary. This place seems to be a long time favorite in town but for myself I do not see anything special about this place. Some of the items on the menu was interesting so if I ever come back I will try something different for sure. Overall I gave this place a 3 star rating, if I am in town I will come again but maybe I will not come back if there are no other reason for coming to Bowmanville. My friend really like this place but nostalgia can be a very powerful seasoning.
