Seen this place popping up all over the place, guess it must be good if they are expanding so fast. Together with my buddy Jake we went for the ultimate test.
It was a dark and rainy day when we arrive at uptown Oshawa, blindly following our untrustworthy GPS. There are many locations but we choose this location since it was near our holy work place. since the weather was terrible the store was very empty and have a sign at the front saying ring bell for service. We immediately rang the bell and a lady came out and ask for our orders. However we was not ready yet and ask for a few more minutes. This small store have 3 different food places into one, a cheesecake place, a milkshake place and the Indian mashup place. The cheesecake place might be good but the milkshake desserts looks way too heavy for my taste.
Before coming here I have already studied the menu and knew what to get. Since it was Friday I ordered the daily deal which was the Toasted Cheesurrito. You can not go wrong with ordering the daily deals since they are usually the popular items and also are cheaper since it’s a deal. Also I ordered the Kathi roll combo with Masala fries and Chicken Tikka. I am not good with spicy foods so I asked for not spicy. My buddy Jake ordered Naan Tacos and a wrap for later. The lady was extremely nice and after taking our orders she began making them nice and fresh. That actually surprised us a little since this small restaurant that have 3 different types of foods was only managed by 1 lady. While waiting I was doing a little filming inside the restaurant. They have a lot of things on the menu and it is actually very mashed up just like advertised. You can choose different types of meat and make it into Wraps, Burritos, Poutines, Mac and Cheese, Burgers, Tacos, and even Baos. The possibilities are overwhelming so we just opted for the more popular choices. After a slightly longer short wait time, we finally got our food. It was raining outside and they had a small bar table with chairs so we decided to eat inside. I would have wanted to film some more but this dude came inside and was looking at us funny.
Now for the main event, all the food is packed very nicely and looked very delicious. My friend decided to eat his Naan Tacos first since he just woke up and did not want a large breakfast. They are packed very neatly and have plenty of fresh veggies on top. The taste was very good and not too heavy, perfect for a light snack or as a side order. The Naan was very soft and goes well together with the ingredients, Jake gave this dish 4.8 out of 5. As for myself, originally I was going to eat the Kathi roll combo and save the Cheesurrito for later but Jake suggested I take a bite of it first to try it out. When I took my first bite I got hit with the delicious spices and the crunchy chicken in contrast to the soft wrap. That first bite made my brain go into a frenzy and I was not going to stop. Bite after bite I kept going non stop, it was just too good, I cannot stop. I slowed down a bit to film myself eating and ate some Masala fries, I wanted to savor the taste a bit longer. The Masala fries was very good, perfect crunch with a little bit of sauce to to distract me from my Cheesurrito. After a bit of a detour I went right back at my love and continued my gobble. Even though I asked for not spicy but it seems the Chicken Tikka was a little spicy but not too much, just perfect for my taste. Finally I reached the end, it was a little sad but I was fully satisfied. This Cheesurrito gets a perfect 5 out of 5 from me, I absolutely loved it. The Kathi roll will have to wait until later to be consume, since I already stuffed. After a few hours it was time for lunch, we hurried to reheat our food. Jake’s wrap still look great, and he said even after getting cold it was still very succulent. However my Kathi roll was not as good, I took it out of the wrapper to reheat and it all fell apart. It just looks very soggy and depressing now. The looks maybe not too great but the taste was still spot on, all the juiciness and flavor was still perfectly intact. The wrap soaked up much of the sauce but as a whole this wrap still deserves a 4 out of 5. I think if I was to eat it fresh it would have been a 5 out of 5 as well. Overall I am very happy with my Indian mash up experience and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try Indian taste with a twist. My first opinion of this place is 5 out of 5 since I did not find anything I dislike, but I will try a few more times to get a more precise rating. Warm desserts for the soul maybe worth trying on my next visit.
